As we all know, the majority of people want to share the perfect version of themselves on social media. They want to select the best images to share with others. However, they are some have taken this concept to the extreme. They have reached their followers which are very far from reality. Therefore, followers think about their flawless beauty standards at a great cost to their self-esteem and mental health.

Those ‘perfect’ celebrity pics you see on Instagram are far from the casual snaps they appear to be

Fortunately, some people have identified the problem and trying to reveal the fake concept that goes on behind the scenes. We have a humorous and quite shocking video by YouTube star Ethan Klein, who disclosures the realism behind some of the popular influencers.

Hours of make-up, flattering poses and all kinds of editing take place before the ‘everyday’ shot is uploaded onto social media

Ethan skewers the obvious trickery that some of these influencers get up to on a daily basis. It shows that everything you see online is not real and under no circumstances, you shouldn’t compare yourself negatively to these people. They are not what they want you to think they are!

“I can’t get over the difference! Don’t believe what you see on Instagram folks”

Away from the polished images that we are presented with daily, it can really be refreshing to see the human side of the famous people that we admire. Social media initially gave us this opportunity to look behind the curtain; unfortunately, though, most social media accounts of celebrities are now run by teams of advisors and managers who wouldn’t share anything unless it has been sensibly vetted first.

Because while we admire, respect and even idolize some celebrities, we somehow crave some reassurance that they are human too. Magazines with headlines screaming ‘Cameron Diaz without make-up,’ or ‘Beyonce’s acne problem’ always sell well because they give people a little peek behind the perfectly-curated curtain, but maybe it would be cooler if there were less illusion and lies.
